Can GERD be misdiagnosed

Even after an Endoscopy of the stomach? My Dr. saw no sign of GERD even though I have had all symptoms? I even took Nexium for the crushing "heart attack" pain and it went away. Can GERD show up as a temporary thing? I haven't gotten a chance to speak with my Gastroenterologist again and only saw him briefly when I was still rather medicated. I have acid in my throat again Today from a coffee and am not convinced, or can't believe, that I truely don't have GERD.

You could have GERDS. It's just that you don't have any damage that they can see. Is the dr keeping you on the meds, telling you to use OTC meds as required, or is he still trying to figure out what the problem is?

[Still trying to figure it out. He said point blank that I don't have it or and overproduction of acid. I used to have ulcers, it feels like ulcers too sometimes. Endoscopy says otherwise. It's the burning pain under my left ribs that really bothers me. I have no idea where it is coming from. Maybe the colonoscopy will tell us something, but I pray it is all clear.
