Mild dehydration & Acid Reflux symptoms? Just curious..... and my constant efforts to research and find out what/why I have the symptoms that I do - I have one question: Has anyone ever been told they are partially dehydrated that caused you to have Acid reflux symptoms? Personally - I don't drink as much water as I should but I'm just not thirsty. I don't necessarily experience the classic symptoms of dehydration either. At times when I go to bed at night - If I can't fall asleep, it's usually because my heart is racing. A tall glass of water helps calm the heart rate. On a couple rare occasions, I've gone to bed feeling cold and wrapped myself up with clothes & blankets and I just couldn't get warm at all - yet It was like an inferno inside my cacoon. I got up and drank some water, and all was good. My mom (74 years old) was just told she's *dehydrated* - but like me, she never feels the need to drink. Could I have the same thing as she does? Can being slightly dehydrated cause symptoms of GERD? Has anyone heard of this before...? I guess I could start trying to drink a lot more and see how things go...but my gawd, I'll be running to the bathroom constantly! Getting older is fun....;) |
Re: Mild dehydration & Acid Reflux symptoms? I'v had dehydration caused by acid reflux but haven't heard that dehydration can cause acid reflux. Like you I am constantly trying to get to the bottom of this disorder. I did hear that we shouldn't drink while we eat but drink betweens meals. This is supposed to help prevent heartburn. I too know that I don't drink enough water. I just forget sometimes and I wait until I'm really thirsty. Getting older is fun.....LOL.... |
