good, glas to hear xx I'm still not well ....i've tried nexium but had side effects that the dr said i needed to stop, idk, i'm holding out hope. My whole esophagus feels so sore and tender and achy, i still reflux 24/7. I now have blisters on the back of my tongue...i just don't know, i've tried so many of the meds. I can eat solids but limited. I have been weaning off of all of my anxiety meds for over a year now and i'm hoping that the its the stress of coming off these and why my stomach is inflammed...but i don't know.

Extremely frustrating and i do hope i survive this, its awfullt scary.

Take care and hope you keep getting better.

Marigold... I have been taking a teaspoon of organic honey.. I melt it and let it slide down my throat and I also have been drinking 2 oz's of Organic Aloe Vera Juice (Lily of the Field ..whole Leaf)...both aid in the healing of my ulcerated esophagus. I am on Omeprazole to help with the reduction of stomach acids.
I quit coffee, pop, spicy foods and try to eat smaller meals...nothing after 7:00 pm if possible.

I am doing much better... I sincerely hope and pray for your recovery.

Re: does anyone with acid reflux get that feeling as well?

thanks...i tried the manuka honey for a bit but didn't notice anything, i still have continued the aloe juice, for months now. I am on 40 mg prilosec a day for now. Like i've said ppi's seem to barely touch my "reflux" or whatever it is. You said you have an ulcerated esophagus, does it feel sore or like hollow in a part of it all day long?

I am doing all of the other strategies for gerd and lpr...its just relentless. I am very confused as to what my next step is, besides hope. I have read that if one doesn't respond to ppis well, then surgery probably isn't a good option, i haven't even spoken to my dr about surgery.

I am just wondering if i should sit back and keep deep breathing and do what i can? Or am i going to miss something, like my throat rupturing? I don't know?? I feel like the drs are only so helpful too. Just wondering if your esophagus/throat was inflammed for some time too ohioman before you began to feel better or if it was an off/on thing?

Mine began 7 months ago and has never stopped...its like a nightmare.

Re: does anyone with acid reflux get that feeling as well?

Marigold.... My throat was raw for about 3 weeks... I ate bland; drank the aloe vera and honey at night and was on omeprazole. I have had an endoscopy.. camera down the throat... have you?

Also...have you seen a specialist..I assume so...but a second opinion sounds like a good idea.

Again... I was having panic attacks because of difficulty breathing and my stomach would slide up my esophagus at night and I would sufficate myself; so I am now sleeping on a wedge pillow when I have too. I am feeling better and like you; am on a strict diet.

Sincerely.... get that second opinion from a recognized expert.
May you be blessed Marigold...I am praying for you!

Re: does anyone with acid reflux get that feeling as well?

yeah, wow, mine has been for months and months and months non-stop, not 3 weeks. I have now had 2 GI opinions and 1 internist opinion. 1 endoscopy, 1 gallbladder ultrasound...and i think thats it for tests. The endoscpy was one month after this all began last July. No h. pylorei, no hernia, no ulcers (at time), no cancer (at time)...mild gastritis and esophagitis. This is baffling. I guess they are going to have to do another endoscopy. This is awful. Thank-you for your prayers. I need them.

Re: does anyone with acid reflux get that feeling as well?

just thought id share: food gettign stuck in my throat has been going on for years(more than 10, im 41 now) - always thought i may have been allergic, or maybe just eating to fast, or too big of bites and not chewing properly. The food would just get stuck, and id have to excuse myself, and couldnt even swallow my saliva..sometimes it would go down in 5 mins, sometimes it would take over an hour...with me just spitting out my saliva till the feeling of the stuck food subsided.

Finally told my primary, had a barium swallow test done, and finally went to a gastro doc, he did some streching and a biopsy - came back negative - and the stretching helped for about 6 months, then back to food getting stuck. Back to Gastro doc, and he put me on Prilosec. Stuck foods didnt occur as often, but it did still occur and I never knew when it would happen, a business meeting, dinner with family, out at a restaurant, and didnt matter what time of day, ro what type of food(but mostly sandwichs, burgers, steaks, even salads).

So back to the gastro doc, and now he insists I take Nexium everyday for the next three months and see what happens.

So Ill be back in 3 months to report back. Id actually like to get my thraot stretched again, but the gastro would rather feed me drugs.
