LPR Gone for a few days then back

Ive been struggling with "LPR" for years now. MY symptoms are not painfull but constant. I feel a lump in my throat sensation, as well as have constant hoarseness. Both of which really bother me, making me not want to talk at all. I saw a friend from Highschool the other day and he said he didnt even recognize me bc my voice was so different.

I've seen 2 different ENTs. Both of which diagnose me (via scope) with LPR. Both doctors have prescribed PPIs and Zantac. The odd thing is that both times i begin to take these medication the problems disappear after taking the meds for a day or so, then days 2-4 i feel great, but then the problems come back. I don't understand how this can happen. It is def not the placebo effect as even my girlfriend said my voice sounds different.

Has anyone had a similar expierence? Is there anyway to keep these postive results longer. The fact that the meds work so fast, then stop is rather confusing.
