    Adrenal Insufficiency & Acne

I have been diagnosed with Adrenal Insufficiency at the age of 14. I take tablets of Hydrocortisone and Fludrocortisone daily. Since then I have been getting acne since the age of 15. I eat healthy (No junk food or such), drink lots of tea on a daily basis, take supplements such as Vitamin E, D, C, Zinc, Magnesium, and Omega 3 Fish oil. I also use a gentle cleanser morning and night. I exercise daily (30 min to 1 hour/day) and I drink a lot of water too. Somehow I still have acne on my chin, forehead, and cheeks as well. I also sleep well (7:30 to 8 Hours of sleep /day). I am now 18 and still have noticeable acne on these areas. What should I do?

    Hi there Hugo Bobby,

Sorry to hear you're having issues with acne I can't say that this has been an issue for me, but we are all different of course. Perhaps it could still be hormones being 18, and given the age that the acne issues began for you?

I do get sweat pimples quite often due to the excess sweat that seems to accompany AI, but that is mainly up around my forehead and temples and much different to an acne type scenario.

I know doctors do help treat bad cases of acne, is this an option for you?

I wish you all the best!
    K.
