Can't really help ya out on this one, as I haven't overslept in about 7 years! LOL
I have heard though that you should get around 7-8 hrs. of sleep per night, that it's better for your acne.
Never heard of the oversleeping thing though,
maybe due to more sweating, clogging pores maybe?

why would you sleep 12 hours??? is that 12 hours straight??!!!!. wow! that can't be good.... you know that can cause you to be extremely lazy if you continue... i'd be careful if i were you. i've noticed, with myself, that the more active i am, the clearer my skin is. it must have a connection, somehow. wish you well..

I understand and I don't think this makes you lazy. If your body is in need of rest then rest you should do. Otherwise, you may get very sick like I did a few years ago.

I work a very stressful job that requires me to get up at 5 am and not get home sometimes 'til 8 pm (I make myself work out for at least on hour after work). I try to act my age (23) and go partying but after a night of drinking and dancing and working a hellacious job, I'm exhausted.

Sometimes, if I am terribly worn out, I will sleep in. I get about 10-12 hours and afterwards I feel lots better. HOWEVER, like you, my face tends to break out when I oversleep. I don't know why. I hear that rest is when your skin heals the most. But I also hear you are supposed to get 8 hours per night. I usually get 5-6 during the week so I probably need to make it a goal to get 8 every night so I don't have to play catch up on my rest.

My skin is oily when I wake up if I sleep that long. I don't break out, but it's like exxon.

If I sleep regular hours; it isn't oily. I have no idea why.

I don't know how old joe is, but i've heard some scientists saying that teenagers should be getting 10-12 hours.

I dont know about that... I have only ever heard 8 is a decent amount to get per night. Getting 12 hours sleep every night is a bit ridiculous- if you have to get up for school at 7:30am imagine going to bed at 7:30pm every night?? That would so not happen....

so i guess too much sleeping isnt good for u!

Well who knows if this was the cause, but when I got home from a 3 day Vegas plane trip, I slept for 17 hours. (In Vegas I was woken up every night, several times a night because of the young kids I was nannying)

That week after getting home was pimple city, and that's rare for me.
