Post how do you categorize acne? whats mild, moderate or severe?

in the past ive had all types of acne. when i was younger i had cystic pimples on forehead and nose... Big ugly ones... I dont know if that is classified as severe but i sure as hell felt that way.

Anyway, after accutane, i would say acne was none to mild...
But now i have 2 big cystic pimples on my forehead again... Although its not all over, its still cystic and HUGE. what would this be categorized as? Moderate? severe?
All the medication is based on this measurement and I thought clearing this up would help people and me too.

Definitely nowhere near severe. I would say mild cystic.

Mild is get me some benzoil peroxide creme. Moderate is these pimples are sickening. Severe is big painful red cysts and you want to know if any gun stores are still open.

openseason - I'm not so fond of that definition...

here's a more technical one. keep in mind though, that not everyone will fall into a specific category. i, for example, had cystic acne, but only on my face, and not as many cysts as some people have.

Mild acne can appear as whiteheads and blackheads or even pimples. If you have moderate acne, you will see more pimples and pustules on your face, and possibly on your chest or back. In severe acne, you will see a lot of nodules, which are painful and large, on your face, chest, back and maybe on other areas of your body, too. It can lead to serious and permanent scarring.
