i don't think it helps heal acne but it's very good on my oily t-zone. i use it all over my face even though my acne's on my forehead & along my neck & it doesn't burn or sting. it reeks but it hasn't dried me out. u probably already know this but i'm bored & want to do something. later

i use witch hazel after anytime i wash my face- and i think it really is helping my acne. i really have no medical proof to back this up, but my grandpa used it everday for like 50 years and he always raved about who knows. i either apply it with a cotton pad all over, or have a little spray bottle with some in it and just close my eyes and mouth and spritz my face a coupla times. they also have these new dickenson's witch hazel wipes that are individually sealed and you can just take them out and use them anytime during the day...they work really well like after you work out and dont want to wait till you get home to shower and get all the sweat off.......and if the smell bothers you- i actually just say in a health food store yesterday they have scented witch hazel- citrus, rose, and some others......haven't tried them ever, but i think i might soon.

I don't know if witch hazel really works for acne. My sister used to use it on just spots... but if you have alot of pimples I would try to use something like Clinque. That seems to work well on my 17-year-old daughter....

Thayer's makes a rosewater alcohol free witch hazel with aloe vera that is really nice. I just started using it a few days ago. You can get it at health food stores. I chose to try this one because it is alcohol free. Most witch hazels contain very high levels of alcohol which can be irritating for some people.

I believe that it is an excellent toner. It really is. It slows the inflammation and irritaion. I like it!
