    Minocycline & Oil Production

Has anyone ever experienced an increase in oil production after stopping minocycline? If so, how long did it last? What is the cause? Thanks in advance for any replies.

8 years? What dosage? Haven't you become resistant to the minocycline yet? Also, have you seen any side effects?

for some reason minocycline always kept it under control, i would break out sometimes but it is nothing compared to if i wasn't on minocycline. I used to take 100 mg 2 times a day. Sometimes i would take just 100 mg 1 time a day. Some side effects would be discoloration of my teeth, my skin would look ugly(not inculding the acne), and it would leave discoloration on my back. All have subsided after i stop taking. I'm currently on doxycycline and so far none of these side effects are present. I'm taking b5 along with this so hopefully i don't have to take these prescribed medications anymore.

    Re: Minocycline & Oil Production

It's good to know someone who went through the same thing as I did. I began to notice discolored skin pigment, almost looked like a dirty sun tan and also flushing of my face and hands. I just stopped taking mino after taking it for few years, only 50 to 100 mg/day. The only way I could bear to stop using it was because of the results I saw from the acne diet. Its been 3 weeks since stopping and my complexion is better that it was while on mino. But i'm wondering how long it will take before side effects go away?
