Question benzoyl perozide vs salicylic acid

I was just wondering what indgrediant is best used for preventing breakouts? I wash my face twice a day and w/ a salicylic acid cleanser and have seldom breakouts? I was just wondering if anyone used benzoyl peroxide to stay clear? And if so is it as hard on your skin as salycylic acid? Thank You

Well, in my experience, the salycylic acid is gentler than the BP, HOWEVER, it all depends on the concentration of the product you are using. A product with 2% BP might be better tolerated by your skin vs. a 10% BP product...and same with the salycylic acid...understand? So read the label. I find, that for general smoothness and clearness the salycylic acid works, but if you have a pimple the BP is best for that. Like salycylic for whiteheads and blackheads....whereas BP for pimples (things where the contents are not exposed) YUCK! Sorry...but you know what I mean right???
