Retina Micro and Benzoyl Peroxide medications at the same time...

I have a question about the usage of both BP and Retina Micro at the same time. On the retinamicro website (http://www.retinamicro.com) it says this:

"Be careful using cleansers or acne products with benzoyl peroxide in them, as this ingredient neutralizes tretinoin, the active ingredient in RETIN-A MICRO, if both are used at the same time."

Now, does this mean not to use them at the EXACT same time? For instance, washing your face with a BP cleanser and then applying RM. Or, applying BP and then putting RM over it.

Or does it mean that you can use BP in the morning and then RM at night. At the same time as in using both products but not at the immediate same time. Morning and night, afternoon and night, using BP as a spot treatment, etc. Ugh, hope that isn't too confusing.

A friend is using both DuAc and Retina Micro with Duac in the morning and Retina Micro at night.

Anyway, I hope someone can clear this up. No pun intended. Thanks.

Benzoyl peroxide negates the effectiveness of retinoids (i.e., Retin-A, Tazorac) and therefore cannot be used at the same time. To get both benefits, you can use benzoyl peroxide in the morning and the retinoid in the evening. The exception is with Differin. The active ingredient in Differin, adapalene, has been shown to remain stable and effective when used with benzoyl peroxide (Source: British Journal of Dermatology, Oct. 1998, page 139)

So, by "at the same time" they mean, one on top of the other.

    Thanks very much.
