    Question Minocycline for mild acne

hey...has anyone tried Minocycline for mild acne? if so, when did you start to see results? was there an initial breakout? my acne is hormonal so i am using Minocycline until i can go back on the pill (im waiting for my period!). Anything anyone has to say about Minocycline would be helpful

I've tried all those oral medicines like minocyclin, doxcycline, tetracycline, and others I can't remember. But I don't remember ever getting an initial breakout on these meds. I would breakout about 5-6 months after using them though because the effectiveness of them eventually wears off as your body becomes immune to them. But yes they did get my skin clear for a little while.

I am currently on minocin...have been on for about 5-6 weeks now...didn't have an inital break out....i guess it has slowly started to hasn't totally cleared me up...but so far the breakouts don't seem to be as bad...fewer popping up at once...i am also using i think it has helped with the breakouts on the chin too...but it hasn't gotten worse since being on minocin....but i know these things take time to 6-8 i am keeping up the hope...if it doesn't work when i go back to see my derm in a month...i will be switching to something else...but so far it has helped a bit....good luck to you!!

I went on minocycline with mild acne for a little over a month. There wasn't an initial breakout, but it didnt make a big difference in terms of clearing me up. My skin was definately drier, no doubt, but not always on my face!!- my finger tips were peeling at one point (around my nail beds) and other parts of my body were dry periodically.
