anyone get acne on their chest?

I have SO much right now its so disgusting, I feel so ugly! I have no idea what is causing it. And now I have it on my upper arm as well. Does anyone else get this? I've never had this before! How can I treat it? Does anything work for it?

That is pretty extreme, i don't think it is acne, it could be irritation from dry skin. Maybe you should try moisturizing after shower.

Re: anyone get acne on their chest?

I tried the Phisoderm Clear Confidence Acne BodyWash for body acne.
That didn't work at all.

The product that really brought down my body acne was Neutrogena Body Clear Body Scrub with salicylic acid. After I used the Neutrogena Body Clear Body Scrub. I would then use the Aveeno clear complexion cleansing bar.
It has 0.5 percent Salicylic Acid. It also has Soy, Vitamins B5, C and E in it.

The best lotion i'v tried for body acne was Paula's Choice Weightless Body Treatment. It has 2% Beta Hydroxy Acid and 2 percent salicylic acid.

I would use this every other day, after I got out the shower and used the
Neutrogena Body Clear Body Scrub.

I would also say, my body reacted so much better to SA products, then BP products.

No, this definitely can be acne. I have plenty all over my upper body (arms, chest, shoulers, back, lower back) and have for about 4 years now. I haven't found a cure but finally got on accutane and seems to be helping so far.

Accutane will definitely clear body acne very effectively, but what you can also try is changing your fabric softener or not using one at all when you wash your shirts. Some people breakout from there cloths.

Good idea with no fabric softener. I'm going to try that next time.

Re: anyone get acne on their chest?

I'm 21 now, when I was going through my teen years 17-19/20 I had acne on my chest. It was in between my boobs and on that flat part of my chest, so if I wore a V-neck shirt my acne was showing like crazy. It was always red and very embarassing. I also had it on my back. It was broken out all the time, I was to afraid to wear tank tops in the summer because of acne on both sides.

I think it's mostly a heredic (sp) thing. My dad had bad acne on his back when he was young. It just recently started clearing. I have been acne free on my chest for sometime now. And my back still has a pimple hear or there.

The only thing i've done to change is; I use Dial anti-bacteria body wash. You can get it at walmart or shopko any store really! I use it on a loofa and make sure i wash the area well. Also if you use conditioner wait till you have it washed out of your hair then wash your skin. I think that had a factor on me! good luck!

Re: anyone get acne on their chest?

I've also had body acne for approximately 4 or 5 years now. I'm a 20 year old male. I've tried many, many things the thwart my body acne. From viewing this board for a couple years now I've heard of users having very favorable responses to:

1) Head and Shoulders Shampoo (Zinc in the product)
2) Dial Anti-bacterial Soap (White bar)
3) Aloe Vera Gel (plant gel would be best)
4) St Ives Exfoliating Scrub
5) Neurogrena Body Wash w/ Sal. Acid
6) Neutrogena Body clear scrub

Now, not to get you down.. but none of these worked for me, but i do recommend trying something new.

One thing I should mention is that I am 100% positive I get body acne from friction with my shirts. I try not to wear tight uncomfortable clothes. Everytime I have sex with my girlfriend it is worse the next day because of her rubbing my back, chest and shoulders. This is certainly one of the main factors to my acne. I am trying something new right now, and I will let you know how it goes as soon as I'm a month into it.

Good luck!

Re: anyone get acne on their chest?

The only thing that cleared my chest and back acne 99% was supplements.

B-Complex 2 times a day
Zinc 1 time a day
Saw Palmetto 3 times a day

I occasionally use the St. Ives Medicated Apricot Scrub when I have a couple spots show up.
