Advice for Acne-Oily skin issues

If you are a true acne sufferer...You should always try the dermatologist first.
But...Here are a few pointers....I am a licensed cosmetologist who specialized in skin care for quite a while.

All over the counter cleansers, toners, spot creams, moisturizers etc....may not have the right ingredients for you. Don't waste your money until you definitely know you have acne and not Roscea or another condition. They look alike sometimes....

STAY away from fragrance added into any of these
Cleansers: Finds ones without stearic acid, any Isoprophal Myristate ingredients and BIG one Sodium laureth sulfate....All of these can be HUGE irritants to acne sufferers.

Toners..Try and stay away from any SD alchohols, Cetyl Alchohol.. Again any products with the listed above ingredients.

Moisturizers: Stay away from Stearic acid, Isoprophal Myristate and Fragrances!, These can also be very irritating.

You now ask when then what can I use???? There are many good products available w/o these ingredients.

I have a mild case of acne I have tried several good products.....

I now use physicians choice....PCA...The real name..I like it alot.
but there are many others......I have tried Desert essence, Dermalogica, Earth Science, Neutrogena....These are all great products

Remember your skin changes every 28+ 30 days..Some products that worked great for a while may some day not work so well. You have to experiment. But always give a product 30 days to perform....UNLESS it is irritating after you use it. That never goes away and is a sign you should stop now.

Healthfood stores have a lot of naturally derived products...
Witch Hazel is a great toner for example....Can be bought anywhere. Not as harsh as Alcohol. Over drying the skin is going to cause the appearance of more oil later and can really dry you out! Over stimulation with anything on the skin can cause more harm than good. So all of you alcohol wiping people...Long term oily type now will be even oilier later!

Good luck and drink alot of water! It does help somewhat..Digestion plays a big part of your skin and organs.....
