    My experience with Accutane

I used to have mild acne on my face and chest and I couldn't stand it. I went years without being able to count the number of pimples on my face because there were so many.

I went on 40mg a day of Accutane for 3 months. Within 2 weeks my chest was completely cleared and my face was already getting noticably better. As everyone does, I went through the pain of having extremely dry lips, arms, back... everything. It sucked but by the time my first three months was up, my doctor decided to take me off of it for 3 months to give my liver and I a break. My acne was almost completely cleared up when I stopped Accutane but I still had a few pimples on my face. However, when I stopped, my skin completely cleared and I've had absolutely no pimples for 2 months now.

I'm quite happy with the results and Accutane may not be for everyone but if you can put up with the dry lips, constantly being itchy in a dry environment due to the dry skin all over your back, arms, hands, etc, then try Accutane.

    Re: My experience with Accutane

My acne was probably worse than what you are thinking. It was bad but I said mild because some descriptions of what people have on here are insane compared to mine.

Anyways, another update. It's been about 6 months and still no acne. I'm pretty sure I'm safe - let's hope so.

my acne is mild-low moderate and im still going on accutane, sometimes if your acne is very persistant like mine, they'll put you on accutane
