yea ive used it, i have body acne as well as face and i can see improvements, but im also on a diet. The diet helps the liver and the milkthistle just improves the livers function even more, i think you should give it a try

I am using this also. I am on the 2nd day of my period with no explosions. I am keeping my fingers crossed.

    Re: milk thistle

I went to a health foods store to ask about milk thistle, and a nutritionist suggested a tea: "Celestial Seasonings Wellness Tea Detox AM". It contains Milk Thistle, Dandelion Root, Red Clover, & Echinacea. It's Vanilla flavored and really tasty if you like tea. She said it helps to cleanse the liver, which can have a major effect on skin. I've only been drinking it for a week, but my skin has been doing a little better (especially this being the week of my period). Of course, this isn't the only reason my skin has calmed down. I think I just have the type of stubborn acne where I have to do ten different things to make it better, but I think this could contribute to the improvement. It's definitely worth a shot, plus detoxing your liver seems like a good idea in general.

    Re: milk thistle

I have to say that I think it could be the milk thistle that is clearing me up.

I was eating quite well but was still not clearing up, then I started taking milk thistle and starting clearing up, now i've fallen off the wagan a bit and am still clear.

I don't know if its the milk thistle or if my acne era is over.

But, good luck. Oh, and when doing anything, it will take a couple of months before you notice a difference.

Actually, my skin is less dry also. Its strange and I dont' know why. The milk thistel is the only thing I'm doing different.

hey veggie girl, I'm eating well and taking Liporexin, which is a diet pill, but doesn't seem to be clearing me up, it does contain milk thistle, I been taking it for 7 weeks now, and in the beginning it seemed to be working, but now, I don't see any improvements. Do you think I should try milkthistle, or maybe I should finish the Liporexin bottle. Let me know what you think plz.

I just started taking milk thistle yesterday. I bought the GNC brand. I take two 200mg capsules a day, one at night and one in the am. I hope it helps!

Doesn't all Milk Thistle contain Silymarin? maybe your supplement is just listing the amount of silymarin contained within the milk thistle itself rather than any extra added silymarin? I don't know. But what brand of milk thistle supplement are you taking because the ones that I have looked at only specify how much silybum (yes I'm serious ) is in each tablet not silymarin which I'm pretty sure is the component that helps your skin.

    Re: milk thistle

I'm taking Natures Resource..Its probably not the best brand because i just saw it at Walgreens and bought it. It has 98mg of Silymarin in it, but i dont know if that is just what milk thistle contains. But so far while ive been taking it my skin looks like crap and i have some little bumps on my forehead. Dont know if milk thistle is contributing to it or not?

It depends which GNC brand you get. The small one with olive oil is not big. The big bottle has big pills. I think I like the smaller one better.
