Flaky skin using Proactiv. What lotion should I use?

I have been using Proactiv for about a year now. It's worked I guess, it's really the only thing that can maintain my acne and keep it down, it hasn't completely cleared it up and I'll still get a small breakout here and there, but anyways. Since I have had acne, I've always had somewhat dry skin, but since I have started the Proactiv, it's been pretty flaky. I've been using it just once a day with the cleanser, then of course I follow up with the toner and repairing lotion. Then afterwards, I put on the Oil-free moisture by Proactiv. My skin isn't unbelievably dry, but it's like flaky, mainly around my cheeks, as if I have dandruff on my cheeks or something, it's annoying. I can take my finger and rub it on my cheeks and you can just see the skin flaking off or even shaving with an electric shaver will do the same. My question is, does anyone know of maybe a good moisturizer that I could put on afterwards that will help out with the dryness/flakiness? One that hopefully will not cause me to break out or affect the Proactiv use? Maybe the Proactiv has always been too harsh for my skin and I should continue not to use it? Any responses will be much appreciated.

Re: Flaky skin using Proactiv. What lotion should I use?

Hi Ya, I tried Proactiv to and the BP was just to harsh on my skin.
    It made it worse.
I wouldn't use it no more.

Here's what I would recommend for acne.
I would recommend Biore pure unclogging scrub.
This is one of the best cleansers i'v tried for acne.
It has 2 percent Salicylic Acid and microbeads which will exfoliate your skin nicely.
Here's how it looks. CVS, Wallgreens and Walmart sells it.

Then use, Dove essential nutrients Toner.
It has Green Tea, Vitamin A, E, B5 and Zinc. Its a non alcohol toner and non comedogenic. Leave the toner on. Dont wash it off.

Then use, Neutrogena multi vitamin acne treatment. Its a lotion with lots of vitamins and salicylic acid. You just leave it on your face. Dont wash it off. This lotion worked great on me. It helped clear my acne and red spots. Yes I break out once in awhile, but the this is by far the best thing to clear my facial acne. Its also feels light on the skin.

The best face Lotion i'v tried for my skin is.
Olay Complete UV Defense Moisture Lotion. It has vitamin C, E, SPF 15 and Zinc Oxide. Its Non- Comedogenic and has no oil in it.

Olay Complete UV Defense Moisture Lotion for sensitive Skin. It has Aloe, Vitamin E, SPF 15 and Zinc Oxide. Its Non- Comedogenic and has no oil in it.
It feels really good on my face.

The main difference between the 2. The first one uses Vitamin C, instead of Aloe.
The 2nd one uses Aloe instead of Vitamin C.
The 2nd one also has no fragrance in it.

If you have really bad face acne and break out alot.
    Besides the routine I mentioned.
    I would recommend Doxycycline.
You got to get this prescribed from a Derm.
If you have no health insurance.
There's 2 version of doxycycline. One version costs 25 dollars and another version which is called Dorf, costs 162 dollars.
The one thats 162 dollars is the pure form version.
My pharmacist said there basically the same thing.
    I get the one that's 25 dollars.
The Doxycycline is 30 pills. Get the version thats 100 mg.

Thanks for the reply, it sounds like a pretty good system that I will probably try out. The lotion though, do you have any idea if it clogs your pores?
