Cool Mild acne - possible help!!

Over the past three weeks I have been testing something out. I use Dove moisturizing body wash on my body, and I thought what the hell, why not try it out on my face. I was astonished at the way it made my face feel. It has never felt so clean. It has done wonders for my skin the past three weeks. I have mild acne, so possibly the reason it is working is maybe it was getting irritated by all of those acne face washes I used. I maybe get one or two pimples a week now. Most of those are due to being out in the sun too much anyway, but i can live with that. Also, I only wash my face once a day. I have very sensitive skin, so it dries out easily. Also, after washing your face, it is very important to use a non clogging moisturizer. I don't care how severe your acne is, you need to moisturize it. I use Cetaphil moisturizing lotion. I works really well.
Anyway, there is my two cents!

Re: Mild acne - possible help!!

You are so right about the moisturizing! I used to use harsh cleansers and then I would also apply all my topicals. I have mild acne as well but very persistant. Then the derm. told me to wash with Dove soap for sensitive skin (I had always used it before I had acne anyway) and my skin really calmed down and the redness faded. I also never used moisturizer because I thought it would make things worse but it is a must! Your skin needs it just don't go overboard! I use Cetaphil am moisturizer at night before bed and in the morning after I wash my face.
