Pimple like thing with black spot

I have a pimple like thing with a black spot in the middle on my back. I was wondering what this is and if I should be concerned about it.

I tried to get the black pencil mark thing out of the center over the week end and the area became somewhat infected and scabed over. Now, the scab is gone but the black spot remains.

Should I be concerned about this? Does anyone have any ideas on how to handle this?
