Post Anyone been on Ortho-tryclen? (sorry about spelling)

I'm going on Ortho-tryclen as soon as I get my period. I'm 19 and currently on accutane (i'm in my second month). I was just wondering what everyone's experiences have been with it. Has it made you break out more? Gain weight? Any advice?

I take Ortho Tri Cyclen, and personally I hate it. It has NOT made me break out worse. I have gained weight, but I cannot say it is due to the Ortho Tri Cyclen, I don't think it is. I spotted the first month, and spot before my period starts. I get worse cramps than I ever had during my period. If you forget to take a pill one day, you're supposed to take 2 the next, but this gives me an extremely upset stomach (so just remember to take the pills each day...)

I really should change BCPs. lol

Most people don't have such a bad time with it. I have a few friends on Ortho Tri Cyclen, and they love it.

I used to be on it, and my skin looked great..but the downside is that i gained so much weight..and i am a dancer so, i cant afford that!

Now that i am off it, my skin has gotten bad, but i love the fact that now i have a flat tummy

I was on ortho tri for a few months. My skin got worse, I gained weight, my boobs got so swollen I thought they were going to blow, I cried everyday and I was moody as hell but I think it takes a while for your body to get used to it; alhtough, I wasn't willing to put up wih all the side effects to wait and find out. It's loaded with estrogen so I guess it depends on how your body tolerates it. Good luck.

Everybodies bodies respond differently to birth control, that is why there are so many different pills out there. Personally I love ortho-tri. I have no pms and my periods aren't painful. I haven't gained any weight and my face has cleared up. But don't expect to see results right away. It will take at least three months or longer. But, if you end up not liking ortho-tri don't give up. Try another pill. Birth control pills are a matter of trial and error. It may take you a few tries to find one that suits you.

Ortho worked great for over a year in clearing up my skin. I never gained weight but I had spotting for about 10 days. After over a year it suddenly stopped working, it could be because i moved and the change in environment. i am now on Diane 35 and it has just started to work.
