Ruining My Clothes With Proactiv

Help! Proactiv is helping my skin tremendously, but I keep accidentally bleaching out spots of my clothing. I try to let the lotion dry well before getting dressed, and I'm still seeing lightening on my shirts where my chin or cheeks might brush up against the collar. The clothes I sleep in at night are getting bleached out spots on the necklines (to the side) and shoulders because I sleep on my side and the clothes touch my face. I also think I might have put a Proactiv-tainted washcloth into the laundry because I have mystery bleach spots on my daughter's clothes, as well. And I don't use bleach in the wash.

I can't continue destroying clothing, but I won't give up the only thing that has helped my skin. Advice?

Re: Ruining My Clothes With Proactiv

I, previously, used Proactiv.. im sorry I cant give you any advice because to me its weird, the only problem I had was when i used a towel adter using the product to dry my face--> then yes the towel was bleached. But clothes? are you sure you are not spilling the product? maybe the toner(very watery) accidently gets on the sink and touched your shirt... im sorry I just dont know

Re: Ruining My Clothes With Proactiv

hey.. I'll give you some advise but I never figured out how to prevent it completely. I ruined multiple shirts from it as well. Two things I started to do.. when I sleep I would always wear a shirt that either I didn't care about or that was white and couldn't be bleached. In the morning I would only wash with it in the shower and then I would re-wash my face with a gentle cleanser to make sure all the benzoyl peroxide was washed off. Third.. only wash towels with towels.. and I changed to buying white hand-towels so it didn't matter if they got bleached. I've since stopped buying proactive since I went back on prescription ointment.. but I know how frustrating your predicament is!!

Re: Ruining My Clothes With Proactiv

Thanks for your responses. Geesh, I though I was loosing my mind, but I guess I'm not the only one ruining clothing. I appreciate the tips.

Regarding my acne, it's mostly hormonal along the chin and neck. I wasn't expecting Proactiv to work on this kind of acne, but it does. Yay! I don't know for sure, but I doubt that Proactiv would be a good choice for Rosacea. It's a very drying product and skin with Rosacea may be too delicate. I think it would just make the Rosacea worse.
