    Re: Spiro Question?!

i'm not an expert, but I think a "cyst" is one of those big, hurty red sores that are under your skin that you can't do anything about, and they take forever to go away. When I think of a "zit", I think of more of a spot of pustule that can be popped (I know, I know...I should never pop zits and it only makes things worse).

Btw...I just noticed you're located in Santa Cruz! I'm a Banana Slug Alumni....I was there from 1998-2003 and absolutely loved it!

No Way!!! Me too!! I graduated in 2006 (transfered from Cabrillo in '04), and am currently in grad school there!

Thanks for clarifying on the zit thing. Yeah, I have never had a "cyst" but I think your right about the description. And, I'm trying not to pop my zits either, but it's hard not to.

Wow...what a small world! I miss SC sooooo much. After I graduated, I moved back to my hometown (Sacramento). What's your major?

    Re: Spiro Question?!

Sorry it's taken a while for me to write back. Started back to school. I am actually in the Master's Credential Program, but my undergrad was in Community Studies with a minor in Education.

Back to the acne...I have a couple new zits...painful ones right by my lip and jawline. I am so frustrated. It's weird, yesterday I was feeling really confident...like I was clearing up...but today I feel like I'm never going to be clear. I hate it, I make all these plans with friends when I'm clear, and feeling confident, but then I breakout more (the breakouts have never really gone away) I feel like canceling all my plans to stay home!

I guess I really need to be reassured that Spiro is going to work. I'm 1.5 months in, and need to see results soon because I'm loosing hope.

Also, does anyone know if working out makes acne worse????

Sweating could increase bacteria which would increase acne, but exercise helps the body process glucose properly, which should help lessen the stimulation of the production of DHTs which is what you are taking Spiro for. There have been discussions here by people who claimed that exercising after meals, especially high glycemic meals, prevented breakouts.
