Anyone use Milk Thistle? Experiences?

Has anybody used Milk Thistle before? I've been doing some research on herbs lately because I'm a firm believer in how much they can help, but I am unaware of this particular kind. It's been said that Milk Thistle cleanses and supports the liver (I believe the liver plays a huge part in our acne) and it says it can cure it. I'm wondering if anyone has any experiences with it? I heard the standardized extract is the best to get because it's the most pure and effective. Any comments? If so, how much mg's do you take per day? Thank you.

I've been taking milk thistle for over a year now. I take 600 mg (standardized to 80% silymarin seed) everyday. I think its a great herb to support liver functions and reduce oxidative stress in the body. it didn't cure my acne but I still find it benefical to continue to take for my skin. It can be somewhat expensive so I order mine online at wholesale costs. I use the brand NSI.

Thanks so much for your response. I think it sounds like a great herb too, and it's important to keep our liver's healthy (which links to our skin.). It's said that Milk Thistle is the most effective herb to do that and the safest to take. I'm still going to order it. Can I ask how long it took for you to notice a difference in your skin?

There is another supplement you can try. Its called evening primrose oil. Its supposed to be good for the skin. The only thing is if you're on seizure medication or ocasionally have seizures then you can't take it.
