Question DIFFERIN® (adapalene gel) Gel, 0.1%

Does anyone know if this product helps reduce oily skin? I have been perscribed to use the above in the mornings and use Isotrex before I go to bed. Many Thanks.

I have been on differin twice, Ive just started again the first time it made me 100% clear.. my acne and oily skin came back so im trying it again hoping it will work.
I have been on it a month now it itionally made my skin really oily but now it has stoped the oil production.

I was put on differin about 2 years ago and I remember that it didn't do much for my skin back then. However, my dermatologist has put me on it again and it has been 3 weeks. I put it on at night, not morning and I notice that my face looks oily in the morning when I get up. I don't think I would be able to use it during the day. I went straight from Retin-A Micro to Differin so I thought I might be able to skip the initial break out, but this past week seemed like it could have been it. By the way, I am 20, have had mild to sometimes moderate acne for 2 years.

I started with the differin cream. After 2 months on it I visited my derm and told her that it was making my face oilier. She switched me to the gel. The oiliness is still there, but less with the gel than with the cream. I'm still using the cream on my shoulders and back.

I like differin, despite the oiliness. I was lucky enough to skip the initial breakout. It's really helping with my bacne, where nothing else would. My face is pretty clear. The pimples I do get and tiny and go away fast.

I'm hoping that the differin will keep me clear so that I'll be able to go off the mino -- finally!
