Re: Question for ruffeo!!!!

I have never taken those medications you posted, but I've read enough about them for me to take a guess...

Take whatever I say with a grain of salt -- I'm no pro.

I believe the only medication that could cause any "bad" side affects would have to be the minocycline -- things such as chronic hepatitis, liver failure, lupus, adnormal hearing loss, or ringing in the ear. But, again, these ailments are pretty rare. If you notice anything out of the norm, like a ringing in your ear, discontinue use of it and consult your dermo.

As for differen, as I know... it's a gel/creme, and does the same thing as retin-a does, only in a more subtle matter, not as harsh. The things that you will notice, perhaps the worst, which really isn't that bad, would be flaky dry skin.

Hope this helps.

Re: Question for ruffeo!!!!

until a few weeks ago, i was on both mino and Differin. i'd been on minocycline for 2 years almost, and i decided that i just wanted to stop, it seemed like it wasn't terribly effective any longer. differin is a good drug, unless you have a strange reaction like several peeps on this board, your face will be a little red for a week, otherwise no side effects. it's better than Retin-A, although neither really helped me much. i think Differin works best for blackheads and surface stuff; it won't help cysts. there is absolutely no reason to think that these two drugs could somehow interact with each other, don't worry about it.
