    hi,

i've been using vaseline for 5 weeks now, on just the red scars, i've some fading of the redness, i think others have noticed the difference more than me, i'm gonna use it for another 4/5 weeks, its a pain applying it though.

    Re: Vaseline???

My face gets stuck to my pillow, its so nasty. I hope 8 more weeks of this will pay off. Before, my acne scars used to NEVER show up in a picture. Yesterday's pictures showed every single red mark, redder than ever. It looked like I had chicken pox on my cheeks. Is the vaseline doing this??? Is it because of the freakin exfoliation? If you dont put it on 6 times a day, will it take a YEAR to work??

I haven't really seen any fading with my old scars but vaseline seems to work great on new ones. I had a huge cyst 1-2 weeks ago and I applied vaseline as soon as the pimple started to go down. Now the redness is lighter than my other redmarks which have been there for months.

    Re: Vaseline???

I notice that my face is less bumpy after 1-2 weeks of vaselline. But the red marks are still very obvious. The only thing is, they don't become brown /black as they used to, I guess that's a good thing....

    Re: Vaseline???

Do you use a scrub and a facial brush?

I do this every day to exfoliate the scars.
I use an special crystal scrub from Estee (it's so gentle)when I wake up and then apply vaseline.

At night, I use a facial brush and brush my skin hard until it is flushed to help get circulation going, then apply the Vaseline on the marks and scars. But old scars take longer though, at least 6 more weeks than newer scars to fade with Vaseline :-(

    Re: Vaseline???

Phil, shouldnt I just skip all of that hassle and get a few peels??? I dont have indentations, just marks. Im not scrubbing my face like its a kitchen sink! You say this is good, right? Doesnt it irritate like hell and cause more breakouts? I dont want to wait 4 months to see any sign of a fading result!

    Re: Vaseline???

I've been washing my face with a Purpose bar, putting Alpha Hydroxy AHA Enhanced Lotion on, and Vaseline over that and the blemishes seem to be lightening. If AHA makes your face red at first try putting less on or at a different time. Also the redness fades mostly. Sometimes if my face seems dry I will just put on Cetaphil lotion and skip the AHA.

    Angela,

Peels are great but unless you can do them every week...just save your money, do a peel 1x a month and just scrub with a facial brush.

I'm not rich enough to afford all those 'treatments' and thank God for the nurse- did facial brushing every day, then applying Vaseline and the red marks were gone. Trust me, you've only a few weeks of Vaseline left...it'll go by quickly.
