    Diane35 update-3rd pack

Well, things have gotten worse. I have seen others post that the 3rd month is pretty bad. I would have to agree. I have been breaking out since before Thanksgiving. It's been mild to moderate, but consistent. In the last two days it has gotten even worse. It's still not as bad as before I starting taking Diane though, which is encouraging. I'll post another update in a month. Good luck to everyone else! Tricia

    Tricia,

Thank you for responding to my post in the other thread and also for posting how you're doing on Diane35. I appreciate hearing how others are responding to it and their experiences with telling their OB/GYNs about it. I've only recently been changed to Estrostep, so I'll probably give that a couple more months to see if it's beneficial at all before I switch. But Diane35 sure does sound like a wonder drug for some people. <IMG SRC="http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/smile.gif">

    Hi,

I was wondering, why use something like Dianne35 if it takes so long to work? Have you tried vitamin b5?? If not, I'd suggest giving it a try, it works within a few days to weeks, not months. I can't use BCP cause I have allergic reactions and when I was on ortho I suffered from blood clots, nausea and overall puke feeling. But from Vitb5 I don't suffer from any ill side effects and my skin looks good now! This is within a month of taking it. So, I'd urge you to try something a bit more natural then stressing your body with bcps.
I know someone might say their acne is hormonal, so was mine. It would get so bad at the time of the month. I read a study done on why b-5 works and why we suffer from hormonal acne. Basically, it stated many of us are defficient in certain hormones that assist in reproduction and when those hormones are defficient our bodies produce another form of hormome, and it signals our body to produce extra oils. But with vitb5 in our systems we are basically giving our body the building blocks for the correct sexual reproduction hormone.
Ok, BUT what this means is that when we put b5 in our bodies we then reap the benefits; less oil, less food for bacteria and better skin.

    Izsabelle,
i have been reading alot about B5 and would really like to try it, but i dont want to start without first consulting my doctor.
my acne is hormonal and i also have polycystic ovaries and in order to control both these conditions i was prescribed diane35 so i therefore have to stay on it.
but since the B5 reduces oil have you noticed any dryness??
my skin was really oily but since i started the diane35 its not as oily anymore but i have a few dry patches, i dont know if it is because the cleanser i use is too harsh?
but i am afraid my skin will get really dry from prolonged use of B5?

I noticed my skin can get a little dry, but I think it's due to the fact that I use Benzoyl peroxide as well. But the b5 actualy normalizes your skin, so it doesn't cause dryness for long. My skin might be dry for a day then normal after that.
I think you should consult your doctor as soon as possible. This is truly something worth trying. You might consider taking a lower dosage of vitb5 at first then move up if no improvment or side effects. But again, with your condition, talk to the doctor(s)before you ever decide to ingest anything.
