Stopped Dianette
Well guys, I just HAD to come off the Dianette... I wasn't feeling quite "right" on it. Of the 14 days I was on it I become extremely tired, really moody, was feeling sick constantly, loss weight, extremely emotional and God knows what else. That pill certainly did not agree with me. I am really upset about it I thought this was going to be the thing that was gonna get me through acne. I am thinking about trying another bcp (any recommendations???) sometime next month. Looks like I will be going thru a trial and test area for a while.

At the moment I am also suffering from a middle ear infection, so I have been sleeping, not eating, feeling even MORE ill and not keeping up my vitamin intake religously like I always do... so my skin has gone down hill... not to mention I haven't been drinking nearly enough water. I think I have been off the B5 for about 4 days now... just starting up again... I hope I don't get an initial breakout - wahh In fact, my face can't look any worse at the moment... zits everywhere (though funnily enough very little cysts if any) especially around my jawline and lips.

Urgh... acne is the pits!!!

Re: Stopped Dianette
hey wats up... i just switched from desogen to yasmin... u might want to check out this one... if u search for it in google u'll get tons of info... all i know is its different from any other pill because its derived from spiro... its an anti-androgen and its supposed to have the least amount of side effects [bloating, weight gain, etc.]... its low dose too...

Re: Stopped Dianette
Hmmm. Think I might. But somehow I just think I am just not suited to ANY bcp. I have been on a couple before, (not because of my acne) and I have had exactly the same side affects. Seems like my body just wants to reject hormones.

Re: Stopped Dianette

I was getting sick all the time too when I was on Dianette (it's called Diane-35 in Canada). I had no mood swings at all and it cleared my acne, but I felt tired a lot. I seemed to catch just about every cold, flu and cough during the 9 months I was taking it. I have been off it for 8 months and have not gotten sick once. I have energy now. But my acne has all come back. But I really think Diane-35 had an effect on my immune system.

I sincerely hope you are feeling better these days and I have faith that you will find a good treatment. I'm back at square one too. Believe me, I understand the frustration.

Re: Stopped Dianette
Marie, I am sorry that Dianette (Diane 35) made you feel this way too. Did you also feel physically sick too... like you wanted to throw up? I did.

I am going to start looking into other pills... have you? There must be one that doesn't disturb out health and helps the acne at the same time...

Keep me posted on if you find anything!

Re: Stopped Dianette
Sorry you had such a bad reaction to Diane! It is one of the reasons why acne is so tough since everyone reacts so differently to the same treatment. I am on my second month of Diane (after switching from being on Ortho Tri Cyclen for years with no results), and loving it. Have you ever tried desogen or yasmin? I have seen women on here using those. Some of my friends have had the same bad reactions as you to BTP, but of course, lucky for them, they have perfect skin! Hope you find one that agrees with your body!

Re: Stopped Dianette
Hi MimiM,

Yes, I felt like I wanted to throw up during the first month of Diane35.

I just purchased Acnease, which is supposed to be a more natural treatment. I'm going to give it a try since I have nothing to lose right now. Let me know what you decide on too

Re: Stopped Dianette
I'm sorry to hear that Diane did not work for you. During my first month of Diane I only experienced some headaches and dizziness and after that it went away. That was my only side effect. After 6 mths. I stopped taking Diane for a month, during the first week I was off, I felt sick when I ate, actually I did throw up once. I was fine after that week, but when I started to take it the next month, I was really sick the first week, and the whole month I just didn't feel right. It's now been 4 mths. and I feel perfectly fine, never feel sick. It is strange how the first time I took it I never felt sick, but then when I stopped and then resumed, I felt sick. Who knows???
I hope you find something that works, Good Luck!
