Mirrors are getting me confused about how I look!?

Hello!! Still here and I wish everyone here luck on beautiful skin!! . Still haven't broken out in a long time but the scars still remain. They look almost faded. It will look clear if you don't stare at my face the whole entire time and I look like a have very nice skin from a distance.

The thing that bothers me is the different types of mirrors and which ones tell the truth or not.Now with my bathroom mirror.... I look great!! It makes me feel good too but if I step in a car in look at the car mirror... I'll still look horrible or the mall mirror makes me look good or another mirror makes me look bad like at this restraunt my sis and my parents went to.There was like this big annoying mirror right next to where you eat and it made me look horrible.I couldn't help but to look at it the whole time.Which mirrors lie!! I hope the bathroom mirrors don't LOL!

Re: Mirrors are getting me confused about how I look!?

its funny cause i thought i was the only one who was confused......lol. My skin is kinda normal now but i still wear makeup to cover up the red spots and scars. All of my house mirrors make me look great but if I go to any store, my skin looks HORRIBLE and it confuses me. And even in school....when I sit in a class room and look in my pocket mirror, my skin looks good but if I go to the bathroom mirror in school ,my skin looks horrible once again...now this is very confusing because we have the same kind of light in classrooms and in bathrooms and it's very very confusing......so makes me feel better to know that i am not the only one....lol......cause I thought i was hallusinating or something..lol

Yup, I used to think the same, until I realised it's the light ;P

I look GREAT in all mirrors in my house, you'd have to get reaaaaal close to me to see my scars. But in the car, it looks like my face is full of little red dots here and there :O I used to get really confused, till I realised it's the light that causes the skin to look good/bad. Try sitting in a dark room with only a candle, and look how great you'll look That's why I say, people with acne like us should only take our dates out to candle-lit dinners :P

I'm glad I'm not the only one...... I try to focus only on my bathroom mirror but whenever I see a mirror anywhere.... I have to run up to it and see if I look alright. It's becoming quite a habit.Even when I am in stores.... I purposely search for a mirror in there to see how I look and if I look horrible.... I start getting real sick to my stomach and feel really low but I have to learn how to fight it.

Flourescent lighting seems to make skin look bad, even if you have a clear complexion. Flourescent bulbs should be outlawed

Anita, I *KNOW*, I've heard! Flourescent bulbs are a BIG

I say, they should block out the sun too, and we should only have candles everywhere

we should create like this whole vampire world where the light would be forbidden. I think flourecent lights are evn worse than the sun light...they are so damn bright....i hate it. They make my skin look like a lemon

i've noticed that in a store where they sell makeup products the lighting is bad because they want you to think you look ugly and rush to buy the make up to make yourself look beautiful. I asked a friend of a friend's who works in one of those stores and she confirmed it.

Re: Mirrors are getting me confused about how I look!?

I totally agree with the above posts about drugstores wanting you to buy more makeup!! Also, the flourescent lighting is not the thing to judge your skin by because it is artificial light. The only thing to judge your skin by is natural light, so take a normal mirror (compact-not car mirrors!) outside into the daylight and go by that! Girls, it is always best to do your makeup in natural light so that you can make sure it matches your skin tone and blend it well so it is not obvious.
We all understand how critical we are of ourselves, but as my boyfriend and mother always tell me, I am my own worst critic!

I agree its the lighting. My face looks fine in one mirror then horrible in another. I find it looks worse in daylight than in artificial light. That's my two-cents!

Ali- I know what you mean about the car thing! I leave my house thinking its all good, then I get behind the wheel, flip down the visor, then I freak because I can see red marks left behind by my little friends. Even when Im wearing makeup! Actually with makeup over them it takes on more of a purplish hue. Then when I get to work, I try to avoid looking in the mirror at all costs because of the dreaded flourescent lighting! *Sigh*
