Lymph Nodes/cysts from acne????

I have bad acne on my neck for years with no lumps(please look at my previous postings)but over 4 months ago I went to the doctors with a lump above my left ear. He said it was due to my bad acne on my neck! The lump went down, came back up again and went down. Now however, I have found another lump above my right ear, another below my left ear on the side of my face (v near the ear) and another on the side of my neck on the right side. Lumps dont have any heads like spots do, and are slightly smaller than a pea and painless but can be tender if touched constantly. Doctor said it was enlarged lymph nodes due to an infection from my acne! Can this be so? Has anyone else had this! Ofcourse I'm worried it may be something more serious and doc has given me some tablets (co-amoxiclav) to try and treat it! please help! Thanks

Re: Lymph Nodes/cysts from acne????

that has happened to me before only that it (the lymph node) has been there ever since around 3 months ago. i checked up with 2 doctors. both told me that my lymph node was enlarged. they said it could be due to the ulcer in my mouth and the pimples on my face. now, the ulcer is gone and my pimples are far less and it still hasn't gone away. how long did yours take to go away before coming back?

btw, my doctor gave me this tablets called Celexin 500.

My goodness, the same thing was happening to me...I was getting a small bump behind my left ear from time to time...very painful when I wore my glasses. That was when my acne was at its worse. Now that the infection has gone down, it has stopped recurring. I never made the correlation; why would the two be connected?

Re: Lymph Nodes/cysts from acne????

In response to your question joslynn, it came up, went down for 3-4 months then came back up, but on thwe other side! WHat is weird is that my acne has been sooooo bad on my neck, and I had no cysts or enlarged nodes. But now my acne has started to go down quite alot, although I still have scarring and scabs forming quite a bit, but no where near as bad as it was - and now is the time my nodes come up!! Apparently its because acne is a localised infection and lymph nodes increase because of it! hmmm...
