Gianni, over here!!!

Hey Gianni, how's life?

Anyhow, I just started looking over most of Oldguy's posts and am yet to finish since I've been skimming real quickly. It is quite overwhelming.

It seems to me that you understand science just as well as Oldguy (much better than me that's for sure).

So is it possible if you can you give me a quick and simple summary of Oldguy's major findings please? For instance, dandruff shampoo, guggle, etc.

I know I've missed a lot and I'm pretty sure you're up-to-date.

Thanks!

Re: Gianni, over here!!!

I thought Gianni is a physicist? Regardless, he's very bright and knows a lot of science and Oldguy's works.

I'm just looking for the main/major points Oldguy mentioned...and I'm positive Gianni knows them too! It's tough when I've missed pretty much everything and am now trying to catch up.

Gianni, where are you my friend?!

Re: Gianni, over here!!!

Jetisin,

yep you're right, i'm a physicist (not a physician). i study sunspots, mainly.....the sun's blemishes, not other people's. i have a good grasp of biology as i was premed before i got hooked into physics.

as far as Oldguy.....i know that his theory was related to atherosclerosis and was thus focused on reducing intake of oxidized or easily oxidizable fats. he even recommended supplements (one of which was a synthetic food preservative) to help.

don't really have anymore info that's not in the archives. i tend not to believe in testimonials, so i've no idea whether this really works.

Re: Gianni, over here!!!

well i think i am proof (to myself at least) that antioxidants killed my cysts (but not small zits, and my VERY oily skin)

I am postive now that cold weather, anxiety, girls, drugs, and school stress breaks me out during fall, winter and spring...

thats why in summer B5 and a decent diet kept me clear, but not even close during winter...

Re: Gianni, over here!!!

Gianni, what is your theory on acne? I remember you from the other acne board which is why I ask.

Cryz, did you ever try using the BHT and NAC that Oldguy recommended?

Can someone help clarify this for me as I'm suddenly confused: If the theory is to reduce consumption of oxidized or easily oxidizable fats, how would reducing carbs help?? Sorry, currently suffering from brain freeze!

Thanks guys!<p>[This message has been edited by Jetisin (edited 03-26-2002).]

Re: Gianni, over here!!!

I have the same thing Crz! I am find during the late spring, summer and early fall, its just november - may that my skin goes all nasty. Unless Im back home in southern cal then its reduced to dec-feb. Im positive the lack of sunlight and cold weather are big contributers to me. In the summer I didnt even use B5 and my skin was fine, but in the rest of the time, its just terrible with B5 even.

Re: Gianni, over here!!!

Jetisin, no I havent gone on those particular supps, but I am taking fat soluble supps, and they keep the cystic acne at bay, but dont stop the oil at all...

If you reduce already oxidized fats and easily oxidized oils, then you`ll have to worry less about it ending up in a plaque in your skin, which turns into a comedo, and gives you acne
