Talking Queen Helene mint julep mask & AHA cleanser

I heard some things on these two products is the Queen Helene mint julep mask a good mask to use once a week? Doesn't clog pores or anything?? Also, I have been looking for a good cleanser and I heard an Alpha Hydroxy Cleanser once a day is great. What do you all think? Thanks

I like both. I've been using Dermafina and it helps with the bumps but didn't much change the total appearance of my skin - I'm african american and a bit on the fairer side and my skin always seems to look a little sallow or sickly without make up. The AHA cleanser and oil free "wrinkle" exfoliant made the skin look fresh and feel so soft the morning after use and no bumps because of it. And the queen helene mask is so inexpensive and clears out black heads like a charm. I have blackhead problems on my nose and there is where I see the biggest difference after the mask - they are always always always gone when I wash the mask off. There are few products I can depend on like that.

Hi. I've been using the Queen Helene Mint Julep mask a few times a week for the past 2 weeks and so far I haven't really seen any improvement with pore size or blackheads. And it burns my face for about 5 minutes when I first put it on....not a cool tingling like you'd expect from mint but it actually burns. Other than the burning I've had no BAD side effects, so I;m going to continue using it for a while and see if I eventually see results. All good things take time and I think that many of us are so eager to see instant results that we don't give a product the time it needs to truly be effective.

I just used the Queen Helep Mint mask for the first time today and it felt good... nice and refreshing and my skin felt a bit smoother afterwards.

Re: Queen Helene mint julep mask & AHA cleanser

My mama taught me to wash my face with Ivory soap, because it's natural and no perfumes and chemicals to irritate skin, and to use QH Mint Julep on my face, and I rarely have breakouts. I have one sibling that has acne problems, I wish I could get him to use this stuff :-) I have used Mint Julep since I was a kid, before I even needed it. I used to like to immitate the girls on TV with green mask and cucumbers :-) 20 years ago, it was sold in a plastic jar, now it is sold in a tube. I used to buy this stuff at the dollar store for $2 a jar. Now, I buy it at Wal-mart. It's the consistancy of thick mud and it feels sooo good, and you can feel it sucking the crap out of your skin. It makes your skin tight and smooth. I love this stuff. I use it when I have a breakout or when I just want to refresh my skin.
