    Re: doxycycline for acne

    Hello Eddiethecat,

The side effects for doxycycline are:
Anorexia, Nausea, Vomiting, diarrhea, rash, photosensitivity, hypersensitivity reactions, hemolytic anemia, thrombocytopenia, neutropenia.

The use of doxycycline for acne depends on how back your acne is and how long you need to be treated for. Some people are treated for months, some are treated for years. Hopefully this helps. Thanks.

In medical terms, anorexia just means loss of appetite. It happens pretty much anytime a person feels sick or nauseous. Anorexia Nervosa is the full name for the mental health problem marked by excessive and dangerous dieting.

Basically, doxycycline is rough on the digestion. Also, if you actually get sick, the antibiotics used to treat your illness might not work as well. Doxycycline does clear up cystic acne, but I would only use it if the acne is very severe and nothing else works.

    Re: doxycycline for acne

I was recently on doxycycline but was taken off after a week because it was making me nauseous and vomited a few times from it. I'm having surgery on my liver in 3 weeks so a replacement medicine wont be issued for a few months. I'm currently using a strong retin-a and a 5% benzoyl peroxide cleanser.
