| Dark spots after pimples go away
I was on acne medication tretenoin 0.025% for almost about 5 months and then decreased the frequency and stopped completely after my forehead was clear, basically my forehead was the only problematic area, the rest was fine. After about 2 months i had a breakout of tiny bumps on my forehead which later turned into small pimples and went away, but left dark spots. I'm getting pimples again and im afraid they will leave dark spots too, i already have about 8-9 in the center of my forehead. Is this happening because i stopped using tretenoin because it never used to happen before. Any help would be appreciated.I'm starting college in a few weeks and i dont wanna be so self conscious and depressed when i start. HELP!!!

Start using a cream or lotion with high concentrate of vitamin C. You can find many of them at Sephora. Ole Henrickson makes a great one, truth serum. IT helps to diminish the dark spots quickly and gives your skin a glow... Clinique also makes dark spot corrector, which is a three step process, and it works just as well.

Do not use vitamin c as ascorbic acid either. Use a non acidic form of the vitamin, like magnesium ascorbyl phosphate. This will lighten the scarring and help prevent new acne.

Try a little bit of light exfoliation.
You can go two routes, chemical or mechanical (or both).
A weak glycolic acid cream (10% or less) applies once per day would suffice for a chemical approach.
For mechanical you could either have microdermabrasion done or exfoliate yourself with a exfoliating scrub. Moisturize heavily afterwards.
I would recommend using AHA/glycolic acid above any mechanical exfoliation.

I completely agree with “Lenbo” that lemon is very effective for dark spots and pimples. Just squeeze one lemon and rub it with the help of cotton. I am sure with in few days you will get positive results. This is my own experience with lemon, I haven’t any pimple but with sun exposure I had got some dark spots and thus for removing them I have used lemon and it worked for me. If you have sensitive skin, then you can use it with honey or water.

I suggest you keep it simple and target the forehead with a light, oil-free moisturizer.
Use your normal moisturizer for your face, use an oil-free one for your forehead. Make sure you wash your face morning and night.
Stick with it and your forehead pimples should clear up.
I hope this helps.
Anthony.
