    Re: Just Diagnosed W/Adult ADD

Scarlett, I am 51 years old and newly diagnosed in January. My doctor started me on welbutrin because it is one of the drugs prescribed for Adult ADD. It is also helping me with the healing that I have to go through after the diagnosis. I have been able to focus somewhat better at work. Last week I cleaned my house from top to bottom in an organized manner for the first time in my life. You really need to keep an open dialog with your doctor, and let her/him know when you are having bad side affects. Sometimes the side affects are only temporary.

    Re: Just Diagnosed W/Adult ADD

    Hi,

I too have just been diagonased with ADD. I'm not on medication yet, just had the tests done. Now I'm reading everything I can get my hands on about adult ADD. Part of me is relieved to know it's ADD, and part of me is depressed that it took so long to find out. (I"m 52) I just need someone to talk to about all this stuff. Hubby wants to use the phone, have to get off. Will post more later.

    Re: Just Diagnosed W/Adult ADD

I am also new to message boards, I was just looking for more info on adult ADD. I was told about 10 years ago that I had it I am now in my late 30's. I've been on adderall and ritalin and now I am taking adderall xr 30mg. If I miss a dose I feel like crap and can not function. I am very concerned about the long term effects from these drugs. Does anyone know about them?
    Thank you
