    fiorinal with codeine

I am trying to get off vicoprofen for my migraines. My doctor gave me fiorinal with codeine 30mg. Vicoprofen has 7.5 of hydrocodone. Which is stronger? I asked the pharmacist and she acted rude and just said they were different and she wasn't sure and that I should take the fiorinal as night in case in knocks me out. Lots of help, huh? can anyone help me with this? I would like to be going down not up on my opiate usage.

vicoprofen is the stronger of these two. 30mg codeine is weaker than a 7.5mg tablet of hydrocodone.

Be careful with the fiorinal with codeine because not only does in contain the codeine, which is a narcotic, it also contains a barbituate. They can be very addictive! Take care,

Excuse my ignorance but what do barbituated do to the body and how are they addictive?

    Re: fiorinal with codeine

A barbituate is a controlled substance and it is a sedative type drug. My neurologists once prescribed these to me for tension headaches, but I could not take them because they "knocked me out." My sub doctor and I were talking about what I could take for my headaches and I mentioned the fiornial (without codeine) and he said absolutely not- barbituates were very addictive, too. That is all I know about this- just what I have been told. Good luck to you,

    Michelle
