    HI Rosietee!

How are you doing today? Can I ask you while you were in rehab, what type of drugs did they give you?

I had such bad insomnia last night that I didn't sleep a wink! I was so desperate that I took a Xanax at 6:00am, but feeling really drowsy right now and its 1:00pm. At least I got a couple of hours of sleep while I was trying to get my daughter ready for school. I really regret taking the Xanax, but I haven't slept really good. I feel bad because I took one two days ago for sleep as well. I never take Xanax for anything but sleep when I'm desperate.

I will write to Kinda and ask talk to him about insomnia. He seems to be such a caring and wonderful man.

Oh Rosietee, so what is your normal day like? You say you live in OC? I live in the suburbs of L.A. Do I know you??? Wouldn't it be funny??? Which rehab did you go to? Was it scary? I'm really really proud of you for going. That's brave of you.

Yes, I think Banker, you and I can have a great ADD support group here. Its really aggraviating because its hard to find therapist that deal with ADD only. I've been searching L.A. area, but no luck still.

I'm proud of you, Rosietee! It gets easier everyday! You're doing great. YOur babies are so lucky to have you back!! How has your husband been since you've been back?

    Take care!

Over - how odd... your story sounds like MINE>>> Were you still pregnant when he said he had another girlfriend and she was prego? I was actually IN THE HOSPITAL about to have my daughter and he brought his girlfriend up there... little did I know that she was actually 10 weeks pregnant at the time I had my daughter. Now, how do you think he explains that when he has HIS two babies now and they go somewhere and people ask 'are they twins' or 'my goodness, what is the age difference?'. He and I joke about it now --- I swear, during my almost two year nightmare of honestly fearing that my newborn would be taken away... Who would have ever thought that he and I would actually get along now and talk? It's just amazing...

I still fear though... I still get scared to death about him taking me back to court. I have a relative that HATES me because I have chosen to remove myself from her because she is BAD for me... just in so many ways. Anyway, I keep hearing through the grapevine that 'she is going to call him and tell him I take hydros'. How could a family member hurt another family member as much as she does?

Anyway,... continue to keep us posted and we are all pulling for you. Stay strong and stay in touch. We all love you and are pulling for you.

Hi over yes I am feeling a little better my nose is still running non-stop and I am still coughing. Yes my sex drive is way back, I mean wow!! I thought for awhile I was going to have to get viagra.

I still feel not up to speed. I had a business meeting tonight and I broke down and had two glasses of wine. I actually felt a little better for awhile but the feelings from the wd's came back after awhile. I politely excused myself from my guests and went home. Yes I know with each day I will feel better. I wish it would come sooner then later. But hey I did it to myself.

How are you feeling? I hope things are going well for you too. Let us know how you are feeling. I am heading for day 7.

Re: My story-getting off hydro and sub..

    Banker,
Gawd, I can't believe he brought his girlfriend to the hospital! If that is not in your face, then I don't know what is. Men are so insensitive after they get a new piece of a*s. You don't really know your man until you go through a divorce. They become so evil... At least you're friendly about with him now. I'm not at all friendly with mine. He's just an a*s**h*e and I'm sure his girlfriend has a lot of influence by him. She feels threatened by me and I really could care less.

Don't be scared about custody. I live in Calif. capital of divorce courts here. The laws here are so messed up here and basically its a "no fault" divorce. Does your ex still think you're consuming hydros? From all of your postings, it seems that you're are pretty clear headed now and I'm sure that he notices it. Not only that, you're not on hydros anymore, technically. You're on Sub, which is not a scheduled drug. If I were you, stay on the Sub for a while then. Let everyone know that you are OFF the hydros and intend to be, including your relative. Is she threatened by your or jealous of you somehow?? That could be the possibilty of her evilness. Women, are messed up sometimes.

Also, let him take the kids for a longer period of time and let his girlfriend watch them as well. See how long they can take that. Trust me, they'll think twice about custody. I mean let them do the day to day stuff and see. Just tell them you're going on a vacation with friends and need a break.

For me today, its much better. Got some sleep. The withdrawls are still there, but mild. Its very tolerable with a couple of MOtrin 800mg. The cravings are there. But, I'm going to get them out of my mine, somehow.

Its really beautiful here in so cal today. Glad to be alive and rejoice in the beauty of nature.

    Take care

    Hi Keith AKA doggreensector,

You must have a cold in addition to withdrawls. That must feel wonderful. Day 7, congratulations!!! Today, I'm feeling much better . I still feel mild withdrawls, but tolerable. I worry about the cravings. When I was on Sub, you don't have the cravings, but I'm completely opiate free. Its only day 5 for me. I miss the buzz, but let's not talk about it anymore. Its MIND over matter!! Keep busy!

Don't worry about the wine. You have to do what have to do. Especially at a busines s meeting with withdrawls. You have to appear somewhat OK,right? So if wine makes you feel OK, then OK, drink temporarily.

I'm so happy that you have you're sex drive back. I had the same problem when I was on hydros and my fiancee was not a happy camper back then. Actually , progressively as my hydro use was increasing, so was my overall demeanor and it so affected our relationship that we broke up. But, we're back together now and its much better. I don't have disdain for him now like I did when I was on the hydros. YOu know what I mean?

I read that you will be taking Zoloft. Be careful with anti depressants, they totally diminish your sex drive. Do you really need it? You will also have to taper off Zoloft later because of the withdrawls. Read more about it on the net.

    Take care Keith,

Isn't it a beautiful weekend here in So cal? Aren't you glad to be able to enjoy the beauty of it sober?

    Over it!

Re: My story-getting off hydro and sub..

    Hi over,

It is beautiful in So Cal today. Yeah I think I am going to pass on the Zoloft for at least a couple of weeks I think that I have had enough of pills for awhile. I felt better today but still a litte achy and tired. Like I said in my last post the wine felt good for about 45 minutes. I woke up today and felt like I was hungover a bit. Booze was a big thing for me at one time. I drink very rarely and I don't usually have more then one or two. Even with that the time between those are usually months, I stay real leery of drinking to this day.

I do feel better besides the fact that I have sex on the brain now. During the past year on vikes I rarely thought of sex. I guess that is a good thing now.

I am glad you are feeling better you should be at day six. I am going into day 8 and feeling better. Have a nice Sunday.

    Keith

Rosie, thanks for trying to direct 'Over' to the post I sent her on my "Over, Can we Tawk" thread. Am not sure if she read it or not....may have gotten lost....or maybe she disagrees. Anyway, am glad you got to read it...having had my life saved by Prozac, I always feel the need to try and help others understand the legitimate place it has in the world of drug therapy. Happy Sunday, m'friend!

Re: My story-getting off hydro and sub..

    Wow Nikka,

That is great and encouraging. Congrats on day 25. Its only day 6 and I have cravings right now as we speak. I want to reach for my Sub, but I won't. It definitely makes the withdrawls go away though!!

Sleep still doesn't come easy for you? Gawd, I'm terrified!! If insomnia wasn't such a big issue, the withdrawls woulnd't be all that bad. But combined with the insomnia, it can be pretty deadly.

Nikka, great job you've done in 25 days. When did you actually feel normal?

    Over it!

    Over,

Any chance of your recosidering going to NA Meetings? There is nothing like face to face support and getting it out in front of people that can relate. I want to go, but am tapering off Valium, the safe and proper way medically, but in the eyes of many there I would still be "using." I still may go anyway.

    Hi Howard,
I, should at least try one meeting. I keep hearing such good things about it. I just feel weirded out by going to one of those. It was pretty bad seeing an addictionologist and being faced with those realities.

Where in the heck do you even begin to find one. I tried going to NA.org and I guess I will have to comb through the site. Do you have any suggestions? I'm open to anything to help me battle this as well.

Thanks for inquiring. How is your battle going? Its not easy, huh?

    Take care.

Over, I just wanted to let you know I saw your post and that I am pleased you appreciated my "tough love" approach. One of the things that frustrates me about this board is the general lack of discussing the ugliness and evils of drug abuse, and the hard and truthful (the dirty truth) self-examination that needs to take place to change our behavior.
