Purpose driven life - day 4

I thought I might start threads fior each day. Give a few of the highlights from the chapter, my thoughts or questions and open it up to the floor. Feel free to jump in now or wait until you read the chapter yourself.

Day 4 - Made to last forever (4 pages)

Mainly about how our life on earth is short compared to eternity. Couple of passages I liked.

"Earth is the staging area, the pre-school, the tryout for your life in eternity.

"There are two kinds of people: Those who say to God 'Thy will be done' and those to whom God says 'All right then, have it your way'

"When you fully comprehend that there is more to life than just the here and now, and you realize that life is just a preparation for eternity you will begin to live differently."

I should really reflect on this awhile before posting. Let me put what I think now and I will post again at the end of the day after reflection.

Though I have never physically harmed anyone in my life, except for 1 fight in college. I have not been a 'Thy will be done person', and there is more to life than the here and now is a new concept to this cocaine addict.

That life is preschool and preparation for eternity, is both comforting and sort of a wake up a call. Through my addiction I have been through a kind of hell, in my life. I certainly don't want to spend eternity with that kind of pain.

Comforting in the fact that though my life on earth is entering or is in the back half, I still have time to change and make it to heaven for eternity which is ALOT longer.

    Quote on heaven from chapter:

"No mere man has ever seen, heard or even imagined the wonderful things God has ready..."

There is more but I have propably copyright infringed enough already.

Chapter 5 - Seeing life from God's View. Boy this keeping my word and not jumping ahead is not always easy.

    G8G, focus on todays chapter.

[QUOTE=Gr8fulGoldfish]"No mere man has ever seen, heard or even imagined the wonderful things God has ready..."

Ahhhhhhhhhhh...I remember the song.."Eye hath not seen, ear hath not heard all that God has in store for them that love Him" and I believe it. We cannot comprehend what God is doing to prepare a place for His children. I am sitting here at 1:26 am Calif. time ..a perfect time to read my chapters.
Also...this inexpensive book is a GREAT gift for someone new in sobriety or who is having trouble just plain living. I know...I read it after it had been given to me.

I will get the book over the weekend, I can't wait. I had my doubts about my faith, not anymore, we are definitely here as part of God's plan for eternity.....Thy will be done.......JT

I want to read the book, too, but thank you so much for walking us through it. That is such a great idea. I will look forward to reading your posts each day.
