I have a bottle of Fioricet that a Dr. prescribed to me some time ago for headaches, and I am wondering how safe it is as far as addicition . I have had a miagrane for 2 days now and would like to try it, but I am wondering if anyone else knows anything about it. It does not have codene in it, just says Bar/apap/caff so i'm assuming it has no narcotics and is probably okay. Thanks.

Re: How "safe" is Fioricet?
Hi,
Though not a narcotic, I believe Fioricet has Butalbital in it, which is a barbituate and can be habit forming. If I were you, I would do a search regarding it's safety for recovering addicts or people prone to addiction.
I hope this helped some.

Imitrex would probably be a better option for a migraine. It is not habit forming and is specifically for that type of pain. It does require a prescription. Hope you feel better.
