Red face Thoughts on Suboxone, feel free to add your own

I hear a lot of you talking about suboxone. I have been addicted to opiates, Heroin now, for about 10 years. Anyway my thoughts are that anyone who claims they arent addicted anymore, are kinda lying to themselves. Not judging anyone, just my own feeling, because my therapist wants me to get on Suboxone, but I am scared once i get on it, iw ont be able to get off of it. It seems that everyone who posts here trys to wean off and eventually has to get back on it. i wish to god to get clean from dope, and all opiates. I know it is a much lesser of two evils, but it is still an EVIL. What do you all think, is there anyone out there that did suboxone for months, or even years, and managed to get off it, and is now completely drug free, i would luv to hear from you.

Why do you think it's evil? If it keeps me/you from continuing our destructive ways then I don't see it as a lesser of two evils. I don't like the fact I have taken the sub for 3 years and will probably continue to take it but I sure do function much better and am a much more productive citizen.

Hey mogj,

When I first come to the boards 3 years ago, Sub was considered by most an "EVIL". I think a lot of people are beginning to understand sub more. Three years ago it was very new and hard to find a Dr. Since it is so new, I think it is to early see a lot of great results. I have been on Sub for 11 months now and my Dr. started my taper plan 2 months ago. Our goal is to be off sub by my 24 month period. I have heard this will be very difficult and I am trying to get my mind set right. The way I look at it now, it is a lot cheaper and safer. You are not spending all your time finding the next fix. I do believe you are trading one for another and I cannot wait for the day I am completely free from it all.

Take Care,
