Alcohol and Ativan withdrawl

Hey all,

My situation is this...been a heavy drinker for about a year and a half....I stopped for a month in June with the help of Librium. It took like 2 days and I did not feel any discomfort. Unfortunately, I resumed drinking but was using ativan to alleviate those panic ridden mornings after a binge. The ativan became more frequent. I would say I have been using almost 1mg for two months. Some days I did not take any, but other times I might take 2mg, but not very often. I ran out of atican two days ago and I can tell the difference.

I saw my GP today and she prescribed me about a weeks worth of Librium an I am going to my psychiatrist tomorrow. I know Librium is a good drug to taper with, but how should I expect to taper?
