Question ACTCH Stim Results, Your opinion?

    Hello Everyone,

I am new to this board and am looking for opinions of those who suffer from adrenal problems. I havent been feeling right for months now, and found a Dr who strongly suspects its my adrenals. My main symptoms are:

    LOW bp
    High HR
    Breathlesness
    Cold hands and feet
    Digestive problems
    Headaches

He ordered a cortisol level, and it was 9 (8:30 AM) and later orderd an ACTH stim test. My results are as follows

    Baseline - 17
    30 min - 21
    60 min - 22

He told me to get a 2nd opinion from an endo before he did anything but he always suspected i had Addison's in early stages before he orderd this test, i am very very eager to find out what he thinks but he just said he wants me to get a 2nd opinion before seeing him again.

Anyone have any ideas whats going on or what he is thinking? My cortisol is normal but not responding much? Please help ty.

    Hello,

I am waiting for a reply on my results to. I see an endo on wed for confirmation (however, i have learned, just because they are a specialist does not mean they are well educated). From what I have read on the net, your baseline is supposed to be low (but, was this done in the AM?). However, your basline is supposed to double, yours only went up 4 points. To me that would mean adrenal insufficiency. Only because your adrenals did not respond well. But I am not a doctor and am only going by info posted on the web. Would be nice to get a reply from someone who is experienced in this..... Uh hum..

Anyway, I posted my results on a "dr.'s lounge" and they confirmed my results. Good luck!

I went to Drs Lounge but they are not accepting new members! Rats. I am curious as to what your results were? Did they confirm an adrenal problem? Glad you found answers, and thank you for your response!

Re: ACTCH Stim Results, Your opinion?

According to them mine is pituitary related. This is because my adrenal glands responded by at least doubling. But ACTH is low so therefore this should be a no brainer for my doctor. What my endo says tomorrow maybe completely different. Although my symptoms and test results fits the bill. When you get fatigued does it feel like your dying? I crash within minutes and do not have the energy to move or even talk. I feel like I am fading out or sinking, as if it would be easy to just let go an pass away. Then if I stay still long enough for at least 20 mintues I can then begin talking more and slowly bring myself back to my daily activities. But I feel dragged down and heavy for days afterwards.

Do these symptoms sound familiar to you?
