Please help- 18 year old female- high DHEA levels- hair loss

When I was around 13 years old my hair began to get thinner but not enough to raise concern. The past 3- 4 years it has gotten very thing on the top of my head towards the front especially. Iím 2014 I had a biopsy done for alopecia and it came back clear. My sister had alopecia so it was a possibility. I also had my DHEA levels tested and they were within normal range. Everyone kind of just threw their hands up in the air and said ďwell itís probably just stressĒ, so Iíve accepted it as hard as it was.
Iím now 18 and recently went to get my annual done with a new GP and he pointed out that my hair was quite thing, and how it looks like with the type of hair I have it should be thick. Growing up it was EXTREMELY thick. He did a blood panel (thyroid included) and everything came back normal, so then my DHEA levels were tested and they were abnormal being quite high in the mid 600s. We then tested testosterone and a few other things which I canít remneber but it all came back normal except for the DHEA of course, so I was referred to an endocrinologist which unfortunately has a month long wait.
Initially we suspected it to be PCOS, but I have regular periods and always have. I do have acne and have since I was about 10, itís never gone away at all.
I read on a blog that DHEA levels that are as high as mine should be checked for Adrenal tumors asap, but pursing anything like that was not mentioned by my GP.
What would cause my DHEA levels to signicantly increase in a few years time? Does anyone have similar experiences/ test results? Please help

At age 13 your DHEA level was within normal range. Now, at age 18, your DHEA level is in the mid 600s. That's a big change.

Has there been any major lifestyle change since you were 13? Any major change regarding stress, diet, exercise, over-the-counter medication, prescription medication, birth control pills or supplements of any kind?

If your lifestyle is about the same, it might be a good idea to get retested for DHEA to rule out the possibility of a lab error.

Yes! I was a professional figure skater until 13 years old and then became pretty home bound. Im not as active as when I was as a figure skater but I hike a good 15-20 miles a week and trying to keep as healthy as possible.
As for diet I am vegan now, no birth control, and have been on the exact meds and dosage as i was when i was younger.
Could this sudden change indicate a possible tumor? I wasnt able to find any information on DHEA levels going from within normal range to very high

According to information I found today, having a tumor is a possibility because patients with Adrenal tumors usually have DHEA well over 600. I wouldn't have found this information if you hadn't asked, so it's a good thing you asked.

This should be checked out with your GP or specialist as soon as possible. Waiting a month for an appointment is not a good idea, in my opinion.

There's always hope that it's not what we suspect because they say that these tumors usually get diagnosed at a median age of 44. So maybe you're lucky to have caught this early.
