"That Feeling" in my chest... does anyone else get it ?

I would probably describe it as an adrenaline feeling or something. Like - that feeling you get when you have a near- miss car accident. That "rush". But it stays & stays - until I take Xanax to get rid of it.

I get it every single day pretty much.

I hate it!!! Does anyone else get this?

Yeah I get this alot too. Mine dosen't last too long just for a minute or two. But it comes out of no where with no triggers. ITs weird.

Hmm, interesting. Mine comes & just stays whether I'm stressed or not.... last night it went on for hours. First 1/2 a xanax, then another 1/2 - then finally after yet another 1/2, it went away.

Just like you "tnmom" - it keps me from falling asleep for a bit.

I'm wondering if this is something a Beta Blocker would help ???? (I still haven't tried 'em yet... waiting for my "2nd Opinion" dr. meeting).

Yes, at times in my life, I have had this fear/flight sensation, 24/7. It's a nightmar. I want to jump out of my skin! Lexapro and Xanax help, and yes, I do have GAD.

I don't have a headache when I have this feeling - but it does cause me to feel a bit short of breath - I have to make myself calm down & take deep, slow breaths.

Last night it happened again - and basically didn't go away. I had to knock myself out with Xanax. Otherwise I would have never fallen asleep.

    It STINKS!! I hate it.

I started getting it 3 yrs ago when I hit 40 and started having hormone issues. As soon as I started taking the pill to deal with the hormones - it went away.

The feeling I had in my chest was like a RUSH or surge of adrenaline? It was what I think was an anxiety attack, anyone else experience something similar? The actual feeling was a warm rush feeling lasted about 2mins.. so is that something similar to what you guys have experienced? it happened at night when I was trying to go to sleep... I've also experienced the occasions when I has kept me awake because I kept getting that feeling when I was nearing sleep.

It is exactly what i felt. And my heart would start pounding too. First I would get the rush, feel warm , then my heart would pound. I thought I was having panic attacks until I realized it was hormonal. Have not had it once since I started taking the pill. Strange.

That is weird. How your hormones could cause an episode like that... well I guess it seems kind of normal.

Was the rushing warm feeling in your chest?

Re: "That Feeling" in my chest... does anyone else get it ?

Yes - it was always in the middle of my chest. I would get the rush, the warm feeling in my chest and then my heart would race for a little while. My OBGYN told me that these were actually hot flashes. I was 40 at the time (43 - thought it was too young, but I started perimenopause at the time and that can last 10 years before menopause.

You are young for menopause, but some women do get hot flashes like these at certain times in their cycles no matter what age they are. You may want to think about when they occur during your cycle. If it is in the middle and at the end, it could be hormonal. I have a friend of mine who has gotten this her whole life.

No I'm pretty sure my incidents were not hot flashes, it's hard to explain but it was more of a panic attack. More of a sudden flutter inside my chest and intense rush feeling and the need to run.
