What would you do with Cough, Throat tickling, sneezing, and Hives!!!

Hi,
What is your experience???? Have you had this?

I have been coughing, my throat feels scratchy, sometimes itchy, inside ears itch as well...My nose is running a little, sneezing sometimes.

last night I got red patches...for the first time...
my neck, arms, back started to itchy like crazy, and I couldn't sleep...
I saw my inner arms had some red large patch with raised areas, and some red bumps...and my elbows also had this redness too...

I googled like crazy and it all looked like hives...
These red patches are gone this morning...They disappeared, and the itchiness as well...Is this how it happens????

I phoned the doc they said, take Benedryl....what else can I do to prevent this? I can't eliminate allergens whatever they are....I don't even know how to...

Any help would be appreciated...
