Allergies from cactus spines stuck in skin or from moving to desert?

I never thought I had allergies before but recently moved to the desert of Southern Arizona. I have recently been having issues with headaches and a stuffed up nose so am thinking I could have allergies in a new environment. I got some cactus spines stuck in my skin from a hike really bad and I have been unable to get them out for the last couple months. I am not sure if these foreign objects could be causing allergies or if it might just be the different pollens/allergens in this new climate. Anyone know if these could be causing allergies?

I doubt that it's the cactus spine. it could be other environmental factors. You don't say where you were before but I can tell you that Arizona has a lot of molds. You could try zyrtec and see if it helps.

I came from Oregon so quite a different climate. I hadn't thought about mold because it is so dry here, could be an issue though

I was in Phoenix visiting with friends when one accidently sprayed hairspray just as I walked past her. It went right in my face and I had an asthma attack! The side effects lasted several days and my allergies acted up. A little research on Phoenix and I learned that several of the molds I am allergic to are prevalent there!
