    Allergic reaction after eating anything

I have never had a food allergy in my life until seemingly last week. I am 49.

I get a rash and itch whenever I eat something now. The rashes are not raised. Just red and itchy. They go away in five minutes. Sometimes there isn't a rash. Just itchy skin.

Not sure it is a coincidence but the rashes began the day after I began taking the steroid prednisone. I stopped the prednisone a day later but the rashes continue 8 days later whenever I eat a meal. My immunologist does not think it is related to the prednisone. I will be making another appointment with him.

Is there a blood test for food allergies?

You can develop any allergy at any age. Not unusual at all. And yes, you can be tested for food allergies. Is this any food? Is raw fruit included? Where is the rash?

I am getting an allergic reaction to any food including water. I do not believe raw fruit though.

Rashes everywhere literally. I thought it might be mast cell activation syndrome but doctor said it is not and it is certain of it. The only thing he said is it could take weeks or months to go away. He says some people get it after an infection or something similar. Wasn't really clear.
