| Anyone else feel completely fatigued with allergies?
I'm looking for some advice on how to get rid of this constant worn out/lethargic feeling. I was soooo sick all last year and really thought something was bad wrong with me. After many, many doctor trips and blood tests, the final diagnosis, was I was healthy and just couldn't get over a sinus infection.
Finally, a year later after being completely miserable, I took an allergy test and was allergic to everything under the sun. I didn't have the usual symptoms though, I didn't sneeze (although I wanted too), my eyes didn't itch or get wattery (although they were swollen every morning I woke up). The worst part were the sinus headaches and a feeling of complete fatigue.
Does anyone feel this way and have any suggestions. I've been on various allergy meds. I have been taking shots now for 2 months and they have helped a ton. I know when my allergies are acting up though b/c i get so tired all the time. Just wondering if I was alone and if anyone gets worn out from allergies.

Hi, I am sorry to hear you have been so miserable. I too suffer with severe allergies and sensitivities. I have also suffered with severe fatigue for yrs. 15 yrs ago I was diagnosed with chronic fatigue syndrome. I was told that a person with severe allergies has a low immune system. And cfs has been recognized as an autoimmune disorder. I think there is a link between allergy sufferes and chronic fatigue syndrome. I was recomended to see an immune specialist. Question your dr. about cfs, since you have already has many blood tests to rule out any major disorder. good luck with everything.

I have never had allergies or this "fatigue" until last year. I don't understand how it just happened. I've been healthy all my life. Anyway, is there anything that can be done about chronic fatigue syndrom?

I have been fatigued all my life I think!!!!jsut kidding. But I am sooo tired all time and don't know why. I have been this way for at least 10 years. Family, ex-husband, and husband now kinda make fun of me and call me "Grandma" cause I HAVE to take a nap almost daily, even if just for an hour. Kinda hurts my feelings cause what harm does it do to anyone if I take a short nap. I don't sleep the day away by any means but if it makes me feek better what's the diff??????

YES YES YES!!!! I was just coming here to ask the exact same thing. My allergies just kicked in yesterday and already I am completely exhausted!! I was wondering if this is a normal reaction for everyone or if it's just me. I'm often tired but with allergies it's a different kind of tired. Think I'll go take a nap now. |

I definitely think my allergies make me fatigued. I actually was at the doctor recently to get my thyroid checked out to find out if that was causing my tiredness. It wasn't and I didn't think about it being the allergies til recently when they started kicking in. I don't sneeze much either, even when I feel like I need to, although my eyes do itch and get red, and I get congestion, and a lot of sinus pain and pressure. I am trying some herbal supplements to help with the fatigue and I take allergy meds when needed and tylenol for the sinus pain. I know when the pain and pressure are gone, I usually feel a lot more energized. I did develop the allergies in the past 4 years, so I know you can develop them as an adult. My doctor also recommended a rheumatologist for investing the chronic fatigue symptoms.

Yup, it's normal I was like you and it took months for my dr to finally figure out it was allergies. I was tested for so many things it's unreal. I would be *so* tired after work that some nights before bed I didn't even have the energy to brush my teeth.
I'm getting shots now and on some meds so it's getting better, but some days I just feel horrible and ache everywhere. I don't think people realize that there are more to allergies than just sneezing. It's like the flu with the body aches and the constant feeling of being tired

I too, have been feeling sooo bad that it has been scaring me. Exhausted beyond belief. Everything is an effort. Lightheaded, scratchy throat and ears, mild sinus pain. Not your "typical" allergy symptoms, huh? Feels like the super flu. Do other people actually feel this way from their allergies? I NEED to know that I'm not alone.

Does anybody get waves of intense flulike symptoms that seem to come and go in intensity? My symptoms seem to ease up a little bit toward evening? Is this common with allergies? It would help me tremendously to know that others have these feelings, because I get really bad anxiety, thinking something is terribly wrong. And I have been thoroughly checked by my internist to rule out other "mimicking" illnesses. So lightheaded, headachy, scratchy throat and ears, that I just have to close my eyes. Can anyone relate?

Yes Yes! I Have The Seasonal Allergies Also. And Today I Woke Up With My Eyes All Puffy, Sneezing, Nasal Drip And Stuffy. I Found Zrytec To Work The Best For Me.. I Have Only Recently Gotten Allergies In The Past 3 Years Or So.. And Until Then I Never Had An Issue. This Year I Have Experienced A Sore Throat, But Only On My Right Side. Sore To Swallow, And Touch. Anyone Else Experiencing This?

Hi Everyone, I also get extremely tired at times usually it would be very bad after allergy shots. I would have to go bed at about 7 in the evening!!!! and sleep through the night. Being that sleep isnt really my 'thing' it was very odd. I think that this fatigue comes from allergy reactions (for me anyway). Speak to your doctor or allergist and find out if you can try something to straighten it out.
