Scared and very unsure

I have asthma and now very very bad allergys. my great kind sweet doctor died. and now i have a doctor that I have to push and pull for what i want.. he never seems to tell me what i need or help me on his own...
i have to tell him what kind of treatment i need. and only then if he agrees
..i can ...he will give it.
very scarry and im so sad.. im not a doctor!!!!!
why do i have to think this out so much?.. OH YAH ! Im the one that wants to live ! that guy dont care!

these last few months have been a living hell for me. ( i know I am going to die from what ever is wrong with me..... as every day is a HUGE fight just to breath at all! ) I have never in my life been this sick with breathing EVER for even half of half this time.

I was getting huge allergys.. so after reseaching MYSELF! told that doctor I want a refurl to see a allergist.. one comes to our town. I went to him.. he did the test rows and rows of pricks. and they said they have never seen such a fast reaction. my arms did all of it except for one arm about 3 inches.
so im getting the shots every week.. its about two months now..

I sleep proped up. Have a NEW $$$$$$$$$$$ air cleaner maschine

and even so useing only a tiny strip of my lungs to breath.. its driving me nuts.. Iv tried thinking what i could do.. but the doctor IF HE IS IN>>NOT.
seems to think its all ok. I went in and tried to explan how bad i am. he pulled out the oxygen metter and right then said i was not bad.. so he patted my back and said your allright .... you just THINK you cant breath! so NO you dont need any Rescue oxygen at home..

but they have me taking .... the allergy shots... nebulizer..advair..xopenex..
antihistamine and decongestant tablet... and from ER VISITS.. prednisone.

if i beg sometimes. I get prednisone from him.. but im learning to only take them spread out. has its too hard to get him to give me any.
bad i know. but i wait untill im ready to get to ER if nothing is done..

all of this and STILL i cant get a good breath.
I use soda to help fix clear my huge congestion.

((((( I have to go now.. will come back..

the latest thoughts of mine are... NO ONE has x rayed my chest to even LOOK for any reasons behind all of this.. YOUR THOUGHTS???

Re: Scared and very unsure

Is this a general doctor or a pulmonologist? If your general doctor, ask for a referal to a pulmonologist if your insurance requiires a referral. You need to see one of them for your asthma. Asthmatics need a "asthma action plan" to control their asthma. I too doubt that you need at home oxygen (generally you have to have below 50% lung function to qualify) and an xray really won't show much with regard to asthma. And it will take about 8-12 months for the allergy shots to show real results.

All that being said, some things you need to do to control your environment:

1) Clear at least your bedroom if not the whole house of your allergens as best as posisble. And avoid them outdoors as much as possible.
2) Scrub your bedroom from top to bottom.
3) Use dustmite bags for your pillows and mattress. Wash all bedding at least weekly in HOT WATER.
4) Be absolutely compliant in using your meds. Take exactly as prescribed. Be sure to premedicate as directed with your rescue inhaler before any cardio, exposure to cold or other things which set off your asthma.
5) Do a search on this website on the Asthma board for a post on Asthma Action Plan that another poster has done. It will help you SO much!

Keep us posted.
