    Congested Throat/Breathing Issues (Cold/Allergies)

For the past few days I've had what I think is just a cold or an allergic reaction, but I'm not sure. My main symptoms are sore throat, chest/throat congestion, and difficulty breathing at times. There is a ton of really thick phlegm in my throat that I am trying to get out but it's gagging me..kind of nasty but I figured I'd ask here and see if anyone knew if the phlegm is what is causing my shortness of breath, sort of like a blockage.

Thanks in advance. I've also been taking Mucinex but it hasn't done much.

Have you tried an antihistamine? or a cold med such as Alka Seltzer Plus for Colds? If your congestion is nasal and it is clear, it's a cold or allergies. If it's green, it's an infection.

    Hi,

Try "Zirtek" at night and "Sudafed Liquid/tablets in the daytime"...
    Wishing you well,

    Solofelix.

Breathing difficulty could be the cause of an infection if you have a cold.
See your Dr and don't take risk's.
Any breathing problem should be investigated,

    Solofelix.
